The western city center is dominated by terraced houses from the post-war period, waste land and commercial areas and should regain its lack of urbanity by the creation of „urban parks“ in the long term. The concept provides several urban inner-city parks, where high-quality residential areas with a view of nature at their edges are planned. These give the area a positive image. The city squares situated at the major road axes offer space for trading and services. By retaining the historical ground-plan of the city a gradual compression of the intermediate areas can take place.
